Contraception has now become a basic need for any adult woman. Even though its main usage is for preventing pregnancy, there are many other things, birth control is used for. Many women take birth control pills to control reproductive health, as well as to treat debilitating symptoms and to better their quality of life.
Below are the reasons women use birth control:
1. Don’t want kids….at least for now
“I have been taking Loette birth control pills since my sophomore year in college. The reason I am a big supporter of contraception use is because I don’t want children, not now or ever. Maybe I will change my mind later, but now the idea of becoming a parent freaks me out.
I don’t want to do something permanent incase I change my decision, so birth control pills are perfect for me”.

2. To deal with menstrual migraines
I went to a GYN when I was sixteen to get help for my intense menstrual migraines. They suddenly appeared a day before my periods and lasted for about three to four days. I couldn’t take it anymore and asked her what was going on.
She told me the migraines were due to hormonal changes in the body and prescribed me contraceptive pills. Later I decided to buy Ovral online [ for cheaper deal] after taking them, the headache just disappeared.
I still get migraines on first day but they are very mild and only last for few hours”!

3. To deal with period cramps
I have been on birth control since I was 15 years old. This because I had absolutely the worst experience with periods. Every time they would come, I bled so much that I would stain my sheets. Plus, I had to curl up, because the pain in my lower abdomen and back was intense.
Taking contraceptive pills really saved me. Now I get lighter periods, that only last three-day max to max, the cramps have lessened as well.

4. To deal with polycystic ovarian cramps
“I have used Ovral pills to control my PCOS [ polycystic ovarian syndrome] which includes serious acne, irregular periods, cramps and weight gain.
Going on birth control, in fact is one of the best decisions I made, it allows me to lead a normal life again. I am sure all women having PCOS can relate to me very well”.

5. To help with symptoms of endometriosis
“My main reason for taking contraceptive pills is because I have a localized type of endometriosis. It is called adenomyosis.
It is really painful and causes severe cramps and heavy bleeding as well as fatigue/ tiredness. The pill helps eliminate all these symptoms”.

6. To deal with perimenopause symptoms
“At 44 years of age, I found I had perimenopause and my periods had become heavy. I was soaking about two super plus tampons in two hours, it was that heavy.
Therefore, I got an IUD two months ago and it has been good. I hardly get periods now; I feel like I have my life back now”.
